Excellent site - I learnt some new stuff from it already.

Only comment I have is that, contrary to your article on fuel, I notice a definite performance improvement and crisper throttle response on Optimax compared with 95 unleaded. Not dramatic enough for me to fork out for Optimax every time though (tight b*****!).

I concur with this, the 260 does have knock sensors and does benifit from higher octanes. After a period of using only optimax I was in an area where there was no super unleaded and I had to use the cooking grade BP, the car was pinking for the next few miles as it re-mapped it's self to the lower grade fuel. After about 10 minutes or so the pinking had gone and I could use full throttle again.

The ZT260 does not have knock sensors. Any performance gains from changing fuels is strictly due to the fuel itself, and not due to any increased timing. Cheers. :MG:

You are correct, after reviewing my Mustang manual it is the 4V engine that has the knock sensors not the 2 valve :sad:
