i guess it would need some nice paint job and some motorsport wheels and tyres, maybe some special seats and a few interior tweeks.
Maybe a special tuned k series from ptp ,an lsd ,suspension improvements ,a brake upgrade,ap racing developed a big zr kit but was never released because mg folded, infact i believe many tuning parts were being sorted for release but all was in vain..

Last I heard...........the black ZR - X was in the scrapyard in Sandwich, Kent waiting crushing looking sorry for itself. Pretty disgusting that these one off cars end up being destroyed or modded out of recognition.

Hi Guys,

Jim, Interesting to hear the Black ZRX (I presume with its non - original front bumper ?) may have passed on.

That would make the Biomorphic one the ONLY existing Sport & Racing produced ZRX then....
someone on here owns the green ZR-X

edit: just realised that you own it :crackup

I did hear on the grapevine that the car had sustained some more front end damage and was SORNed, awaiting funds/parts (this was quite a while back mind), but wasn't aware it was going to be crushed (this being BX04 XZR/SARRFLNME4D757727). Got any more info, Mr. Beached Bandit? ;)

Pitty, I liked it when both the ZR-Xs were in Surrey. :D

Then there's the bling this will never pass an MOT Rover 200, where an earth did that disappear too?

I wouldn't know too much about it. Don Quixote and myself were tipped off about it a short while back. I have no money or nowhere to store it so there are a few possibilities........its been scrapped, someone has bought it and will know what it is and restore it........or someone has bought it and will return it to the road as standard or chav it up

Wasn't the black ZR - X the one with the belter of an engine?? and your one I assume the 'good looking one' but no running gear mods......

I :dunno: anyway.........well done MG Rover for looking after it :shake:

Want more info? contact the breaker yard in Sandwich, Kent (near Pfizers I think) and see if you can rescue it if they haven't turned it into the latest Beko fridge freezer......I wouldn't hold your hopes out of it still being there.

It really bugs me when unique cars like that just get scraped  anyone with any sense would let people know of where it is so someone with a bit of cash and love and attention can give the car another chance by reshelling it or rebuilding it no matter how much ruddy money it would cost.

Just out of curiousity..............any chance you can post up some pics of your car as it is now, since it is probably the only one left now the black on is a fridge freezer? Pretty please.

Jim

******..........too late :doh
lol,the actual zr-x was almost exactly what i suggested then.

Dave
Although it would be good to replicate the ZR-X it would be even better if you did something a bit diffrent as the ZR-X has already been done.
I found out some more about the black ZR - X today.

It was in Universal Salvage yard Sandwich, Kent......

It is a Cat C with front end damage and suspension damage......

It was sold 4th June........so had I been quicker when I found out DOH!!!......

SORN and either going to be repaired or broken for spares.......hopefully repaired.

IIRC the Brakes fitted to it where just Coupe Racer items repainted, AP made them before.

Jim,

Good bit of detective work there, well done, but a bit of a shame as you say to just miss it. I bid on the Biomorphic at the SnR auction, till it went over the 10K mark, so when I next found it on ebay over a year later it had to be fate ? Who knows where that Black Olive one might pop up, but thank god that front end has gone !
Does any of this help?

TF160 so not all relevant but he's got some good gains out of the motor:)

Thanks dude.........I had some help from Technogoat on this what with finding phone numbers and that.

I hope if the Black Olive one has been given another chance in life it won't be made to look like a chav boy racers wet dream with a fibreglass front end more suited to clearing heavy snow from streets........

After tonights testing activities what with a little frustration I am having far too much fun with The Red Devil to warrant taking on another project. There is already another waiting in the wings as it is.

Jim
I just checked on DVLA site and BX04XZR is 'Licence not due' and liability date 1/8/09. So is Mk1 ZR-X alive somewhere ?
Good luck sourcing all the bits needed to convert it...as all the genuine SnR bits are hard to come by! I know, I spent over a year finding all mine :D

Still waiting on a set of x-power mats and cheap spoiler add on...
