I was hopeing to get a ZR D+ but tryed to get insurance but i keep getting stupid quotes i know you get 1 years free insurance , but what happens the next year. I even tryed getting quotes on a ZR 105 and thats high to. I am 21 with 3 years no claims and no points .What sort of quotes has evey one else got. If i can't get a cheap quote soon i will have to make a ZR look a like out of my Rover 200.

Ouch

I think it's a rite of passage: everybody pays a £1000 insurance bill in the early part of their motoring life!
Seriously though, insurance companies often put a big loading on diesels, charging much more than a petrol in the same group because they think diesel = big miles = sales rep!!
Have you tried getting some quotes for the 105 or 120 to compare?

Hi

I just bought a ZR 160, I'm 31 but only have one years no claims.

I also managed to get a range of silly quotes some over £2000.

The best quote in the end was from Admiral at £870 fully comp.

There is a web site for young drivers, but I can't remember the web address, sorry.

I've also heard that elephant.co.uk are supposed to be quite cheap.

Hope that helps.

For what its worth, I live in Ireland and when I bought my zr105+ I posed as an 18 year old (I'm 29) to find out how much it would be. The cheaper quote cam in at 7500 euro, almost 5 grand sterling.
Feel better?

Save for a year!

I also will be paying about £1000 for my insurance next year. I have a 105+ but in comparison last year i had a 1.2 Fiat Punto and that was costing me £1500.....

I would rather have a nice looking, quick shifting car that makes me feel less pissed off about paying high insurance.

Tesco.co.uk are good insurance quoters, give them a try. Also remember that i depends where you live to how low your quote goes......

I got my insurance from admiral (as I was already with them) for £700. I'm 24 no NCB no points. But the dealer told me that if you join the MG owners club they do cheap insurance or if gave me a name a number for an MG specialist insurer, who are call Peter Best phone number 01621 840400. BTW bought my car ex-demo so I didn't get the free insurance but saved £2500.

Direct Line - started off about £400.

Insured in my mother's name (she, 50+, full NCB, no points) and me (26, no claims, no points).

Then added side skirts and they wanted an extra £90. I told them to get real and they took £30 off.

ZR+120, by the way.
