ZR 17" wheels on a Rover 25

1688 Views 35 Replies 3 Participants Last post by  Nick Young
Does anyone know if 17" ZR wheels will fit on a Rover 25?

My 25 has 15" alloys at the moment, but I have thought about changing them for bigger ones at some point in the future.

Any ideas?

nn-y Welcome

From the XPower site:

Front suspension castor and a tuned power assistance valve maximise steering precision, driver feedback and stability. The chosen wheel and tyre combinations give impressive levels of grip. Standard on the ZR 160, optional on the other ZR models 17" diameter ‘Straights’ alloy wheels with 205/45 R17 tyres. For the other models there are 16" diameter, ‘Hairpins’ sports-style alloy wheels with 205/50 R16 tyres.

XPower ZR Page - Chassis

The R25/ZR chassis is basically the same - so go and get those 17" on! :D

I'm easily confused - Cameron at Princess Margaret's - whose that? Guess Natalie is "she who should be obeyed?" :D
Certainly is... :D :D :D :D

Are you going to buy them as a "Valentine Pressy". Sex on wheels with OZ 17" Superleggra's. :D Remember, it's only money!
Too right it's only money! :D :D :D

Right, that's my valentines day sorted - I bought you the 600 two years ago on valentines day, Nick, so now it's your turn!

Jerry,

If it's only money and not important, perhaps you'd be so kind as to send me a cheque for the new wheels.. :)

Nats becoming a real girl racer. She's talking about putting on bodykits and lowering and all sorts now!
Oh, and Nat, I bought YOU the 600, remember? It wasn't my fault you couldn't drive it then....:D
At least Jerry says it's ok to buy some wheels :D
Thanks for the advice - I'll keep those in mind

If I remember rightly the 600 was YOUR car Nick because of the fact that I hadn't got my license when YOU apparently bought it for ME.

Don't deny it - I've got you cornered Nicholas!:D

(Totally MGR unrelated, but there you are...)

Swindon?

Do you both live around Swindon? Just curious. :)
Yep, we do.
Why curious? :D

Ah! just that ref to Princess Margaret's.....Guess you know I only live only a stones throw away, we prefer to shop there than Oxford! Passing right on by tomorrow am to Hullavington!

Did you buy the machines through "Swindon Automobiles?" Well, as he shelled out 1000 notes for new wheels & tyres yet? Seems its all he can do with buying a 600 for you, followed by that expensive, but luverly ZT for him! :)

no no No No NO NO NOOOOOOOOO!!!!!

Would never buy a vehicle from them, on penalty of torture...:D :D

Seriously, both Nats car and mine were bought from Howards Rover in Weston. Very good garage on the whole!
Yeah, Nick mentioned that you live quite close.
We'll have to get together and talk MGR! Car washing sessions?!

Nope, we didn't get our cars from Swindon Automobiles - too many bad experiences with them. We got a quote for the accident damage on the ZT (I suppose you heard that story?) and they were so rude. We wrote letters to the directors of the company, but never did receive a reply, let alone an apology!

We bought them within a week of each other from a place called Howards Rover in Weston Super Mare. It was certainly worth the 120 mile round trip for the service we received! :)

Swindon Automobiles

Total agreement on SA! Shame you have to travel miles for the service!

Agree about the get together - a couple (well 4 really) have been looking at a mass visit to the "New Visitor Center". If, so will let you eveyone know!

While you are both on-line, been contemplating for days about a reversal of colours on the Forum - white on Black like the main site - what do you think? My only dilemna is that the white base is easy on the eye!
Actually the servicing can be done at any MGR approved dealer, so we'll probably get them serviced at Faraday Rover in Newbury, who are also quite good.
Nick works in Newbury, so it's close. The great thing is that while my car is being serviced (I do about 20000m a year!), I'll be able to drive the ZT :D :D :D

Colour scheme change sounds good, not that there is anything wrong with the one here already, but yeah, full agreement. We all need a change every now and again :)
Jerry,

I should point out that Nat is insured on the ZT, but she's only driven it the once.. Might be something to do with the 900 quid excess while she's driving!!!

Oh Dear Nat. :D:D Does this mean females are not as good at driving as males? Time for lunch me thinks! :)
