I've just had a check on how much play is in my upper suspension arm as it was an advisory on the MOT.

I've been quoted about £160 at a dealers to replace, does that sound reasonable?

Font or rear?
I'm guessing rear because fronts don't suffer.
£160 sounds exspencive

if its front its a fairly simple diy job.

i sold both my top arms to the civic boys as the mg arms offer better caster over the rover ones, but the only difference is labelling it turns out, a left and rover is the same as right hand mg.
even from an 05 plate with low miles they were worth 15quid a pair.

I would imagine a pattern arm is little more than 30quid, and less than an hour to fit for a d i y er

It's the front ball joint, lots of potholes round here.
I've seen someone replace one on a civic on youtube, it did look quite easy as he managed most of the job whilst holding a camera.

He also manage to replace it without undoing the shock.
