Hello everyone :) I want to do the timing belt change on my zed - 1.6 k-series - 58k on the clock and have the parts including cam locking tool. Has anyone attempted this? haynes gives it a 3 rating job? Have done everything to this car and don't want to stop now. All your thoughts on attempting this would be terrific and the problems encountered? ta much

my mate done the timing belt and waterpump,3wks ago,there was a few fiddly bits,the thermostat was the worst part as its right at the back of the engine,other than that took him about 2 hrs to do it,mines is a 1.4 tho

cool. thats very good to know. was expecting it to take longer. Should i be replacing the thermostate too? and did you have issues taking off the crankshaft bolt?

the bolt was tight,i had to replace it as mine was staying open all the time,if you know what your doing,youl be fine mate

I know that's why i had to ask before undertaking. Don't know who comes up with the ratings lol
