Gwyndaf Evans and the MG ZR EX258 rally car will be attending the Pirelli British Rally Championship shakedown this weekend at Sweet Lamb, mid-Wales.

The MG ZR will be entering this event as part of the on-going development and to obtain vital data for the gravel surface test programme. Baz Cannon, technical director of GSE Motorsport explained: "We are now working on developing and tuning the car for gravel surface events. We have planned a range of tests and the opportunity to put our work into practice on Pirelli Rally is ideal."

Steve Bond, rally manager, GSE Motorsport added: "GSE are delighted to be returning to the BRC albeit only for one event after a break of several years. As previous winners of the championship we know the Pirelli Rally well. We are particularly pleased to be bringing a truly British team to the UK arena in the form of MG which we believe will add flavour and depth to this opening event."

Gwyndaf Evans is excited at the prospect of testing the MG at Sweet Lamb. He said: "It'll be the first time British fans will get to see the MG ZR rally car on home turf. It'll also be the first time for the car to turn a wheel on gravel."

Gwyndaf Evans and Chris Patterson will be in action at the Pirelli International Rally later this month and the next round of the Junior World Rally Championship, which takes place 13-16 June in Greece.
