Not me!! We swapped our ZT-T190 for the ZT-T260 last year and since then the wife has just used it locally as her main car with me jumping in for a go every now and then for local noisy V8 sounding runs :), the wife had already commented that the 260 didn't seem any faster than the old car but I thought what does she know!! Anyhow, this all changed on Friday when we had to make the 125 miles on a trip to London disappear fast as we were late. What a disappointment the car is!! It seems breathless and lacking in performance and it doesn't compensate by giving good fuel economy either.

We used our old 190 for a trip to Alicante in Spain and it just eat the miles up and even at speeds of over a ton it still returned really good economy, yes the 260 is a more special car but IMHO the 190 is a better car out of the box.

So, what to do as I still like the car other than it being a snail?? I have a LS2 6litre Corvette engine at work and am going to get the measuring tape out!! The LS2 makes
400hp in standard trim and another 100 can be had very easily/cheap.

MGR in their wisdom put the worst V8 Ford had in the 260 anyway, right old clonker!

how about a better Mustang lump Martin? Would drop straight in but then again I know how you like to tinker!
I agree with your first line !! They needed their heads banging together for choosing such a poor engine.

Will look at other Mustang engines but I already have two LS engines in stock and they're very compact in design and also come with a 6 speed box.

^^lol^^

you could always just supercharge it, 400 bhp and then they are reasonably nippy but still nothing exceptional......im guessing that wouldnt be enough though

Maybe the 260 development budget would only run to Fords "poverty spec" V8.
Maybe so but the cars were not cheap when new and IMHO deserved a better engine, this is on my mind now so I will be doing something about it. When we bought the car I recall the trader saying that the car was 'all mouth and no trousers' .... He was right!!

My blown car does 0 to 60 in the same time as the M5 then it is quicker in the higher gears all the way to 175 plus mph. I think thats fast enough. Ask Charger he HAS driven it.
I wouldn't pick an M5 engine as tuning parts would be expensive, as already mentioned yank stuff is very cheap and easily available.
