hi guys ,
just wonderd if anybody else has had any rust proofing done on there car by any company ive got 2 quotes one at £440 and one at £450.

these are both for all cavities and under body...are these a good price?
both are also using waxoyl.

Most important thing to treat is the fuel tank.
That seems a lot for applying waxoyl when there are better professional products around.

When we look at old R400 they seem to go around the area where the wheelarch and rear bumper meet, also the rear wheelarch area just above the sill. These do not need much dismantling to get some waxoyl in there.

A nice summer DIY job when the waxoyl is runny and plastic clips are soft!

The waxoyl wont protect that area much, it is caused by paint chips. Even the plastic wheel arch on the 180 gets the paint chpped down to the plastic there!


(Waxoyl works fine in the winter if you put the tin in a pan of hot water for a 1/2 hour first.)
