Is there a how to do for this anywhere as I have a feeling this is the reason my balance motor has failed and is lighting both leds on my VIS indicator lights. Hoping to investigate this weekend.

Cheers, Rob.

This is a bit tricky. The same type of motor bell end is required. These are found in many locking motors. To fix it, remove the bell end from the balance motor by levering back the metal case with long nose pliers, slide off the bell end- retaining any washers. Thoroughly clean the motor commutator, making sure the crud between the commutator slots is cleaned out as this is what causes it to short.

move the bell end form the donor motor and fit to balance motor. Spin up motor with a 9V battery to check it works and refit to assembly. You may also need to fit a bit of wire to bridge out a burned out PCB track.
