bought a recon caliper for the 180, fitted it to find it was the sliders that had seized, so went down scrappies to get another (from samller braked model) just to send back (as its exchange unit)...

...removed rear caliper from what looked like a honda 1.6se (slightly sporty interior for a honda, but no sign of vtec anywhere)

got it back and its exactly the same as my 180 caliper.

wondered at this point if calipers were same but carriers different, so checked rimmer, and they list different calipers.

So whats going on, is it all in the carriers or is a basic honda fitted with 262 rears?

more to the point, should I be raping the other calipers and carriers off this car?

I think some of the brake parts are common with the earlier models of Honda Accord as well, they certainly used the same rear pads.

yes, many parts are shared.

I thought it was only the vtec 1.8 civic and dc2 integra which had the bigger brakes, this is what makes me question the caliper being the same from a 1.6 honda as a 180zs.
