Firstly, painting them red, blue yellow or any "WOW Look at my dorky brake drums" is no option, if they get painted, it's a matt black colour that doesn't stand out...

But, they look rusty and offend me. I don't really want to change for discs as I don't need it, but I want to make them look smarter, any ideas?

I was thinking of testing a little hammerite on part of the drum to see if it removes the oxide and check out what colour it turns

Just wire brush the loose stuff off give them a spray with brake cleaner then paint with black hammerite... Job done!
