loving all this talk about cars nice to have a well balanced thread with out people *****ing lol....

anybody got any advice for santa pod? my first time. ive got a few mods flywheel,full ss exhaust,quaife,race cat.

everything is mechanically sound is there any prep i need to do for car? still all standard inside. p zero tyres on .

i had noticed on a trackday website that on one particular donington day, the s2000 forum were going to turn out in large numbers.
So i decided to sign up for this trackday and then went on the s2k website baiting them all, telling them i was gonna run rings around hondas finest vtec's in my rover 45. I had about 30 of them all heckling and laughing their heads off and saying they would beat any rover even if they were stuck in reverse.
They asked if my car was modified...i said "yes very modified " and so then they wanted to know my mods, so i listed a fake bunch of chavvy mods purposely to get them going, such as....

under car neons
mega music boot build
alloy foot pedals
fake bonnet bulge
6 inch tailpipe trim
back seats folded down

of course none of these chavy mods would bring any performance to the car at all, but i insisted i was gonna pummel em anyway.

So anyway, i really went to town and they fell for it hook, line and sinker.
The track day came around and we drives in and there's s2000's eveywhere, about 30 of them. Some of the owners came over and said "are you that dave with the rover?".......yep that's me , so they looked around the car and spotted it wasn't quite the chav mobile i'd made out , but they were still of the opinion that any rovers would be just mobile chicanes.
So we goes out on track, couple of warm up laps with s2000's swarming all over us, ready to be the first to claim the rovers scalp.
Gradually got the car up to temps steadily going a bit quicker and a bit quicker.....the s2000's queing behind started to thin out, until over the next lap or 2 they all faded away in to the background and dissapeared, even the modified ones!.
Session ends , head into the pits to a huge gang of honda owners stood scratching their bonces.............rovers 1....hondas 0.
The thread on the s2000 forum changed somewhat after that, i posted " hi guys good to meet you today, anyone want to see my on board footage of s2000's getting lapped !"
Team zs earnt the mg a lot of respect in many peoples eyes that day....

lmao! that sounds brilliant which zs did you have then? was it the vag powerd unit or your heavily modified kv6 engine?

would of loved to see that with my own eyes!

Only need a helmet if doing terminals over 110mph. You will be ok.

flywheel is worth 4 or 5 tenths of a second on its own, ross proved that, i ran my hatch loads and loads, stripped to a ton with 210 bhp and got down to 14.0. Ross went with a saloon, same power but heavier and ran 13.7, only spec difference was lightweight flywheel on ross's car.

can see you getting comfortably into the 14's...especially if you have 40 profile tyres too.

really? engine is pretty standard no cams or anything....seems like a very quick time .

cutler.....my car was kv6 powered back then, 210 ish bhp give or take.
Believe it or not i did the exact same stunt with a few other forums, the most notable being the bmw m3 forum...they all went down the same :lol:

amen.....this is all im gonna be doing and ive done hundreds of runs!



















might just add a few bits, set of front drag slicks....full stripped interior....plastic glass....forged engine running a garrett the size of a bucket, with a gripper diff, launch control, boost control and rev indicator light...tummy control support pants , nipple rings and a butt plug.....should see me into the 16's.....:flypig:
