I have just returned from Cyprus having spent two weeks in sunny Paphos.

Sadly I have to report, that during my time in Paphos I only saw one MGR vehicle and that was a R75, 1.8 litre ,Club (Cowley build)
There were a few old 200 & 400's but nothing new from the MGR stable.

Cyprus was a haven for BMC/Leyland/etc a few years ago, but now its all Japanese motors with the youngsters upgrading there Honda Civic's to a very tasty looking machine.

On a Friday & Saturday evening, all the locals cruise up and down the promonade with their motors. I only wish that I could have joined in with my ZT-T. Now that is a vehicle worth displaying!!!

Lucky you, I've spent weeks in Cyprus courtesy of the Queen, either in Limassol or Akrotiri. Always enjoyed it, especially the crew Kebab (6 course local meal or a Fish Meze). Once was told to pack a bag - "your going to the med for a few days" - ended up spendig 6 weeks there.

I remember the squadies all bought Daihatsu Chirades (sp). Very few Brit cars even in the late nineties. Those that you did see - where all very tired.

Lots of older trucks though - Leylands - AEC - Bedfords all working hard.
