ive got a rover 420 td,which is mint mechanically and i am considering turning it into a zs mk1 replica.
i was thinking of using the zs180 suspension allround,17 inch straights, changing the doors, interior etc.
my only stumble is the front end,im sure the wings and bonnet will just bolt on,but will i need to use the zs front panel,to allow the lights and bumper to be mounted ???

any information welcomed before i embark on this project.
the 420 is a 5 door hatch.

regards to you all Bill

I know it is often pointed out that for the price of these cars its not worth the additional insurance premiums of making one look like another, on a more helpfull note I am pretty sure the seats bolt in differently making it harder to swap the Z' interior to earlier models. The ZS uses a 2 pin bonnet catch also which I am not sure the earlier cars use so that would take some thinking about.

hello,
thanks for the reply.

i honestly think you are correct, ive been looking on ebay etc and the price of a genuine zstd,is very realistic with regards to the cost of getting all the parts i would need for the conversion.

i guess the 420sldi td and honda civic i have, may make way for a proper zs td.
