I was looking through bing maps which are really outdated, they show Longbridge in some amazing detail, and look what I spotted :D

Were they based on Groveley Lane? There's now a builders merchant stood there, I wonder if they know what was based there

EH Smith was indeed where MG Racing were based.

It was also one of the first bits of the plant to be reoccupied by another company

It's all a bit of a shame really, It's fantastic that Longbridge is getting re-developed, Bournville college, a new "town centre" etc, but looking through bing it makes you feel something major was lost.

We don't have anything on that scale in the UK now :( I was just looking at other car factories on google maps (Fiat plants for example) And I dunno, just feels like the UK has a massive hole in it.

It's a shame Longbridge didn't have a test track! Some of the Fiat groups test tracks look fantastic! lol
