My mk2 180 is in need of an intermediate pipe after it failed the MOT quoted 'major leak of exhaust gases'. Well the OE pipe has at least lasted 6 years.

I am looking for a Janspeed intermediate to compliment my existing Xpower Janspeed backbox. I have looked at PTP website and it mentioned model no. SS609I http://www.ptp-ltd.co.uk/shop/227_5...s/mg_zs__r45_intermediate_pipe_-_janspeed.htm.

However I looked at another site on my search and this site came back with SS619I for model May 04> http://www.needforspeed.co.uk/pages/sbv_pl.asp?Vehicle=MG_ZS01&PartType=EXJ04.

I thought the intermediate section is no difference whether it is a mk1 or mk2?

Saloon/hatch and 120/180 are the same too, got mine for the MK2 from PTP and it fitted fine and sounded better than the original.

Just an update, in the end have no ideas the differences between the two part numbers. I ordered SS609 from PTP and fitted onto the mk2 without any issues. It is certainly louder than the OE intermediate pipe.

I think some of the exhausts are mild steel and some stainless steel, this could be the part number difference?

Both part numbers begin with 'SS' which I would have thought that stands for stainless steel. I did sent a query to Janspeed about the different numbers but they still not got back to me.
