I saw it on the sunday, lovely motor. All the people saying 'why did mg build this' (me being one of them) will be shut up once seen in the flesh, looks... awesome
Coopersworks, bit late on response i know, but well noticed. Those light units are off a Fiat ; the new shape Punto !
Going off thread here i know but continuing the car parts theme, can anyone name where the rear lights on an Aston Martin DB7 were took from !!??
Doh - So close, yet so far. I used to know this...I also used to know the exact displacement of every exotic engine there was. It seems as I get older such knowledge is slipping away. It's being replaced by "How to fit laminate floors" and "DIY loft conversions" :shake:
Jerry - Saw in Autocar the perfect reg.no. for your new purchase...
I seem to remember something about the 1000th forum member getting a (track?) ride in the ZT385, Can we assume this "prize" has been upgraded to a ride in an SV?
If so, I'll be trying to convice the other half to register when its gets close
Well done to Citizen Rat on the DB7 lights ! They were off a Mazda 323F from the mid 90's. Its odd really how manufacturers come to choose certain parts for their new products yet as often seen, it can work so well. The most used example has to be the wing mirror off the Citroen CX. This appears on present day Esprit's, was on the Jag XJ220, TVR Griffith, Renault sport spider, Aston Martin DB7, Virage and Vantage, Marcos Mantis and the McLaren F1 prototype! Probably gone off thread a bit there !
Yes, they're Fiart Coupe rear lights, but fitted with neat turned ally bezels (at least they were on the show car when Peter S showed them to me shortly before fitting...)
Having spoken to my dealer yesterday, he informs me that there may be some ZT260's on the road. He informs me that even though he doesnt sell them, certain dealers do. Im going to look into this, and try to find one.
Maybe I can interest them in letter me have a test drive in an SV. And Im sure I can put some money that way.
