Anyone got any numbers for insurance companies who look favourably on the ZS180?

I'm getting silly quotes back!

try getting insurance at 20 years old! I have had to opt for the 120. no one would cover me for the 180

By the time I can afford real power, I will be to old to appreciate it

How far u away from 21? Think MGR are doing free insurance on this model at the moment. See MGR main Forum - I posted details.

The free insurance is for 25+ years. I cant wait that long :)
I do however, get a free sony cam corder (anyone had one of these?) instead. I am amazed how reasonable Insurance is on the 120. Its a group 12 allthough its only 150 pounds more than my Current Punto Sporting which is group 7.

I RECON YOU'RE BETTER OFF WITH THE 120

You've got many more options available to you for upgrading the power -
There's loads of MGF upgrades ready to be bolted on.

Even a supercharger - MMMMMMM!

I've got the 180, but it isn't as quick as you'd think - mind you i've only got 800 miles on it so far, so maybe it'll loosen up a bit.

Super Charger hey. Direct Line might find this a little too much to handle. I would be interested in tuning the car though, maybe take it to a specialist and get them to tune it up a few BHP.

My 120 should be no different in looks to a 180, so I'm halfway there.

I think you'd be suprised - they charge more for mods, but not that much.

We've been messing around with an EV0 6, and norwich union charge you in bands eg up to £1500 up to £3000 etc for mods

As long as they've been done properly.

You can get an ECU upgrade and induction kit, this should push it up to about 140, an it'll be almost as fast as mine cos it's much lighter.

Go-on you know you wanna!

AXA did my modded VI for £970. Seven's the same. Induction Kit gets the most loading from my experience. But I'm not 20. :(

I don't know if they list it as an mgzs - probably an MGF

I know when I had an MGF, there was a chip you could just plug into the ecu and remove when required.

Insurance

I got my insurance through A-plan, It only cost me £384.00 in my ZS180. I'm only thirty so I was really surprised at the quote. I have full no claims discount and live in Cambridge. Location is key, as this really brings the cost down.

My brother lives in a really nice area, which has no crime whatsoever. Its about 10 miles from my slightly higher risk city location (milton keynes city center area) - could I not just register insurance at that address, the car will be there anyway most weekends?
