Pleased you're in - should be good. I've very little experience too. The horsepower will not be problem, enjoy! :)

I think I'll take Natasha's advice and ask Ed Moore for some instruction!

I'm going to put mobile 1 in the engine the weekend before, but how much fuel do you have in the tank ?
Natasha said there will be 30 cars on the day, will they be spaced out or can you follow a car round to gauge your cars performance to another?

The EVO does about 6/7 mpg (60 miles per tank) + the brakes take a real beating as does your tyres.

My advice: Give the car a serious look over beforehand. On the day add 3psi to standard on the tyres. I'm going to take a Jerry can of SUL. Also do a cooling down lap or half, then when you stop let the engine cool before switching off - don't sit with your foot on the brakes. Warps the discs especially on EVO's (just acquired some AP 6pots - MAX doesn't know - she does now - doubt I'll have the time to get 'em fitted though).

Following other cars. LOL! They'll brief us on the day - racing is technically forbidden. If people want to pass - let 'em go or stop for a while. I'm sure she said the laps was 2.3 mile with 30 of us - no problem. Should be good. Also, initially use Ed Moore for advice - learn the line/braking point!:)

Just noticed I did the "MP" thing and didn't answer your PETROL question! Answer - nearly full - beacuse the problem is running out of fuel for me. TheY are only concerned that fuel may spill - now being a MG and engineered well you should be OK! Me, I'll use the fuel before it becomes a problem. :)

Be interesting to see how many miles you do get to the tank! My guess will be VERY low double figures! :(

is the photo showing off your new calipers?';
btw,will i get a ride in the vii :D
NO - they're the old ones - BREMBO 4-pots. Will not have the new ones fitted until much later in the month. Trying to get AP's for the rears as well.

No probs on the ride - just hope it doesn't rain. :( The tyres on the VII are wider than the VI's and are pretty slick in design!

Fantastic day! Awesome day!

Well Kevin and I had a fantastic day at Hullavington. Plus special thanks to ED Moore of Motorsport Events!

I won't steal Kevs thunder - but the ZS180 is an excellent track day tool - he was as quicker tha Subaru WRX's and other supposedly fast machinery (much of later from Kev). I had a ride in his car and can confirm the handling is awesome - more power and he would be embarrassing! And this is in a car costing £15 - £16k. :D :D

The car looked easy to control and the back, even though provoked stayed in line, whereas the brutal EVO VII even with AYC was a little skittish. However, once the tracked dried the boys from XPOWER-MG Forums really shuffled on. I have to say I was a little upset by the new M3 which is not faster than the EVO (although drivers should be brought into the equation). Oh! and if you thought a Titty is worth buying - DONT!

Anyway enough for the mo - I intend to make a page on the host site listing types present, with a few pictures - either later tonight or sometime over the weekend!

PS. If we ever had the following on this Forum as the Lancer Register has - I'm sure Ed Moore would organise an MGR trackday! Roll on Summer!

i'm quite shattered after my 3 & half hour trip home :O( but as jerry has mentioned the ZS saw combat today and left the battle field with honour:D
jerrys evo & my ZS are like chalk & cheese ,the evo state of the art and the ZS old skool hot hatch but we both enjoyed driving at the limit safely.
I think a group event would be a great idea

BTW great photos jerry
Don't know who that was! :D

Let's look at a few of us getting together in April - have to say John, I prefer Airfield circuits - because of run off distances! Remember you are not insured on track unless you get specific cover! :D

Max, made me get most of the black filth off the car last night - the car was very bad! Helped a friend whose business is Steel Fabrication deliver steel into Central London this am, so didn't have a chance to wash it again or check it over!

FR Fletcher & Son - Steel Fabrications

Ordered the AP 4-pots for the rear today, so when I come back from my hols will get the AP ons and Brembos off (the Brembos are fitted to Porsche 996's - if anyone wants them let me know).

Anyone know where Mr Harrison's gone?

Fuel Consupmtion

OK, Kevins baiting.

I filled the car before the track day, then half way through and again before I went home (now fullish) - 175 miles = 90 litres. Circa 8mpg & thats with a few road miles. Take the cat off and the car would throw flames as the unburnt fuel on overrun is burnt (as we saw on an EVO4 belonging to a m8).
