I think she will need a trip to your local doc's first to establish what the problem is. From there I think he will either prescribe some drugs or refer her to a phsychiatrist or even a hospital. Hope she gets some help soon as it can't be easy for you.

She's 20.....supposedly seeing a counsillor but today has yet again flipped big time.
She bullies my parents and uses blackmail to get what she wants. Always flips when someone says no. Sounds like a spoilt brat and you'd think it was a toddlers behaviour but shes 20 and blaming everyone but herself!

The issue is that the doctors/cousellor do not see the behaviour and are only told what she tells them which of course is overtly biased making out its everyone else not her.

The police will be involved if she uses a knife to blackmail my parents again. Its driving the family mad.

Pretty extreme behaviour - any bad habits like booze/drugs?

Good luck dude.

Not being funny, but i think lewerty has a point..If you let her do those things and get away with it,then she has won and she'll do it again because there is no retaliaiton.I say call her bluff ask her if she wants to spend a few yrs behind bars for asault with intent, and tell her to take plenty baby oil to mask the taste of pussy!!...and if that fails and she goes for you, or your parents then give her a good kicking. And if police get involved you feared for your safety and the safty of others around you at the time ..pleading self defence!!!cause make no mistake, no brother or sister of mine, that did that to me or my parents, would wish they hadnt been bourne hope you find truth in this answer

We don't like to think of things like this, but Parsec may well have a good point.

Her behaviour is extreme (well, I think so, being a dim-witted west walian village boy) which may mean some sort of chemical inbalance. Not to say that this would be due to any legal prescription / non-prescription drugs or illegal substances, but a natural inbalance perhaps.

I've never experienced this type of behaviour first hand (I can back up Dave's point though, the missus gets f****g evil sometimes for no other apparent reason!). Medical assistance is a must, you or your parents shouldn't have to tolerate this behaviour from another family member. She is 20, so not a kid going through a 'phase'. If it's getting to the stage of physical assault (wielding a knife sounds pretty bloody physical) you've got to start looking at what might happen if the police (I know - she's your sister) AREN'T involved, but there may be no other short term solutions until you can identify what's causing this behaviour and 'solve' the problem.

Horrible situation - get sister a criminal record or get mum or dad in hospital (or worse if she's messing about with sharp things)? I don't know what say - as a family, you've got some nasty choices to make.

I hope you all get it sorted quickly.

All the best,

Gary.

If it's not a case of her needing to be knocked down a peg or 2 I'd be looking at some sort of psychiatric disorder.

It has seemed that way, shes bullying them and when it comes to me I dont take it so she throws a wobbler. I do believe she needs bringing down a few pegs Im just waiting for her to start on me and not provoking for her to blame it on me.

Apart from that yes she's smoking some 'legal' version of weed called Skunk but her b/f smokes weed as my mate knows him. He's an unemployable worthless div who does nothing else with his days apart from play console games and smoke.

She needs attention just I dont think a counsellor is going to have the effect which is needed, when she can say what she likes unchallenged.

Your all right to an extent, just wondered if anyone knew if there was a process for getting such people 'looked after' as it were.

Doctor,Local Authority,Mental Health Team (locally). If she flips again call the police. If shes out in street arrest could be made under sec 136 mental health act. This will involve all the above and will be done whilst in custody. If its indoors minimum would be to prevent b.o.peace whereby she'll get locked up for a few hours to cool off and could also qualify for the mental health assessment once calm / drink / drug free. Also consider any minor assaults such as pushing shoving hitting or indeed any damage that she has caused.
They say that smoking skunk is ok ???? I don't think so.

Good luck mate as you will need it. Your family will eventually get right brassed off with her and start doing the above I'm sure.

Not sure if its the drugs tbh, one of my mates is still smoking that stuff since college and he is OK. IMO it has different effects on different people.

Sounds like a BF is a right to$$er / gammon slipper to be honest and could do with a dry slap.
