Mini City E :)

Great little car, spent my second year at university rebuilding the engine and those lectures I did manage to go to I sat grinding valves :D

Only problem with that car was if you sat on the motorway behind a truck (usually thats about as fast as you could go) when it was raining, all the spray went straight in the grill and onto the dizzie. So a 6 hour trip to the mountains usually involved several hard shoulder stops and a large supply of toilet roll and WD40!

Hmmm... Steering wheel and gear knob look like early 80's VW. From the dash I would guess it's a Polo rather than a Golf. Am I close?

Steve, I think you should go and get your anorak out... :)

Has to be contender for the worst car I've driven. I once got it to 60mph. I think it would have gone faster, but I was too scared to try.....

Worryingly I got it straight off from the first picture as being a Mk1 Polo! Recognised the steering wheel from a friend's car...

But the steering wheel isn't from a Mk1 Polo I don't think - it's from a Mk1 Golf.... :)

My first car - a 1966 Mini 850 Super deLuxe.

Flared wheel arches, wheel spacers, 12" sports steering wheel (lowered).

Best £55 I ever spent.

My first car, all ready just before my 17th birthday (rebuilt by me, first car i sprayed) it was silver but someone smashed into it 3 months before my birthday so i rebuilt the front end and went for the cooper look. Spent £1000's on it over the years, brake upgrades, 1293 fast road spec engine, bigger wheels you name it!
Sold it in 2000 , still see it around, infact saw it today and gave the guy a flash, he waved back! (i was in my MG Maestro turbo)

Hope you like,

Gareth

Robin,

Well it was Nick that took the photo, yes :D

So I probably was - experimenting with looking my most sultry ;)
