Me again lol, went out to check the levels on the wife's new car, best to keep an eye out not knowing the car.
The water level has dropped quite alot, saying that i dont remember checking this when i bought it so i cant really say.
It not over heated & sits just below half way on the gauge. Are these cars prone from water leaks? I have seen a few threads about leaks from the inlet gasket - rads & waterpump.
Just a little concerned incase its the dreaded hgf.

Edit: Should have said, the cars starts perfectly no mayo & performs spot on other than the noisey inlet rattle.

This is the ZR160 from your other thread.

Think a sniff test to confirm if its getting burnt gasses into the water. Could still be either the inlet or head gasket.

If it comes back clear I'd look at all hoses, radiator, waterpump, heater connectors, no damp under the carpets in the front foot wells.
Might be worth buying a new expansion tank cap.

Hope its not the dreaded, but get it done correctly and it should be cured.

Best of luck with it.
