Which is best A or B?
The torsen A was used on the earlier PG1 box but they are not as strong as the type b and have a habit of shearing.

There is a school of thought, however, that says the type a is a better diff, that is until it fails.

TBH I wouldn't try a local garage to do the work unless they are experienced in the PG1, I've heard too many horror stories, Rally Matt has a very good reputation and his prices are resonable. Alternativly there is lots of info on www.rovertech.net
something I posted on another forum.

The type A is better and the one most prefur, yes they might not be as strong as the B but this one is brand new! so loads of life in it. Also the zs/zr doesnt have the torque/power delevery of a turbo motor which helps. It is also supported with steel bearings.
