My Camera has loads of settings but it's wasted on me..
How do you get those amazing light streaks of car tail lights ?

With a tripod/sturdy place to wedge the camera and a long exposure time

you just use an extended shutter speed marcus :D

I tried just using just my hands on my recent travels as I didn't have a tripod and it was very difficult. Yours looks better with a tripod.
