Autoexpress

Hiya,

A while back, there was a copy of autoexpress that had the review of the ZT385.

As I missed the issue (was on holiday), and I've been unable to get hold of a back issue, I was hoping that someone might be able to help me with a scan or something?

Thanks!

Unfortunately, I threw the magazine away, as the article was a little bit suspect. They porported to have driven the car and I KNOW they hadn't, I rang the factory who said no one had because the car didn't exist. Also, spoke to my dealer who confirmed the same! The article also mentioned a May launch (same as the MGR website). I guess they are getting mixed up with the 260/265! :(

The 385 SHOW car was the XPower500 retimmed and sprayed.

However, the article exists with one photograph on this web at http://www.xpower-mg.com/ZT XPower 385 Gossip.htm

I also know that Kernahan's have contacted the factory to tell them that their web builder has the wrong kaunch date on the website - be interesting to see if it changes! :D
Thanks Jerry!

I wasn't aware that they hadn't driven one. Still, it's a worthy review. Makes a change for someone to review a Rover/MG car that doesn't exist yet, and actually give a good review.. :D :D

Good to know I haven't missed anything anyway..

Agree Nick

The recent MGR press coverage (post ***) has by and large been great!

She doesn't need 'em - 6' anyway! I can honestly say I don't think I have read a bad review lately on any MGR car. Yes, there has been some average ones, but none of the scathing attacks that MGR used to witness a few years ago. :)

Why is this? Because the product albeit a little familair is built to a good standard and the reworked MG chassis are very good value for money! :)
Jerry,

I can tell you're a salesman...:D

Ever thought of working for MG Rover?
G
Serious head. I can honestly say I would work for MGR tomorrow - don't think they would have me - I don't have any specialist qualifications.

Also, not sure I could be a car salesmen. However, it should be easy if you believe in the product and you work for a good dealership.

Speaking to Martin Kernahan yesterday and he mentioned that 8 of them or going into France in the summer - biking - now honestly in what other company do you get that sort of comradry? My guess is about 1%. I think its called job satisfaction - teamwork - CRM etc!
Agreed, you don't get that kind of work environment just anywhere.. Quite lucky where I am now in that we have a similar sort of environment here. That said, I doubt many people here would go on a biking trip. I work for a computer software company, and most people here are too lazy when it comes to exercise. :D :D :D

Seriously though, no qualifications? But you must be good at whathever it is you do to afford the ZT385.. Do you know the tyres are likely to be about 300 quid each? :)

Who said anything about pedals??? :D

On the job front - NO, just spend money on Cars. PETROLHEAD I belive it is called! Wife encourages me - £300 though - ouch! There is always Micheldever Tyres. :D Do you know the make fitted. By the time this car arrioves I will have been on about it for over 2 years!!!! I just hope it fulfills my expectations - I'm sure it will!

Be interesting to start a thread as to what we all do for a living - I expect quite a few are IT based!
