Browsing thru Autocar, I see that someone has written in, undecided against an X-type and a ZT, and wants their advice.
They come down firmly on the ZT's side, saying it's far better to drive, and the guy says he doen't like the current Jag advertising campaign...:D

Just that people need educating on the benfits of these cars! We are getting there! Just hope that it is not discovered too late. At least we haven't got all the negative press coming out of Longbridge that we had in the days of *** stewardship. :D

Autocar long term ZT test

I see that Autocar has published its 12,000 mile review on their ZT190 (since New Year - they rack up the miles!!). Interesting commentary on traction and the lack thereof: apparently there wasn't time to recalibrate the standard R75 system to the new engine's characteristics :( Otherwise they seem very happy, despite electrical niggles, and they don't seem to have encountered the oil consumption issues others have mentioned.

Obviously "Traction Control" needs to be fitted - especially to a car that has more bhp and wider tyres.

Will put the article on site later.
