It's always difficult to come up with a definitive list but I reckon that the Blower Bentley, Lancia Stratos and TVR Griffith 500 would be in it. I'm not a big Ferrari fan but, of course, the 250 GTO would have to be there.
If I had to choose my favourite current car, that would be more difficult; it would probably be the Noble M12, Ultima Spyder or TVR Tuscan S - as much for their political incorrectness as anything else.

Actually, add the Dodge Viper to that list!
I find the sound of a car's engine the most evocative part of motoring - yes, I know I'm sad

- and on this front there are two cars that stand out:
- The 1500cc, straight 8, supercharged Alfa Romeo, which the mechanics were warming up about 4 ft from me at last year's Festival of Speed.
- The Ferrari 360. I used to live in the same village as Franki Dettori and, one time, I drove up behind him while he was waiting to cross another road in his. When it was clear to go, I just opened my window and listened as he accelerated up the hill. It was the most spine-tingling sound I have ever heard - it still makes the hairs on my neck stand up when I think of it now.
[/list=1] God, I really am sad, aren't I?
Anyway, I'm sure I will have more cars to add to the list after GoodWood this year.
