Hi guys,

Does anyone know where I can get the air duct that joins the air cleaner and resonator (items 1 and 4 on the diagram below)?

I'm having an issue with the idle revs hunting, when in traffic jams for over an hour. I've tried many things and thought that I'd try getting the duct.

Agreed, it wont do anything to help that! I take it you have cleaned the Idle control valve & throttle body etc

Yup done that. No luck. Was just wanting to try anything really!

I bought the car with the issue. I have since had the VIS valves off but it hasn't got any worse / better.

Also I don't have a catch tank fitted.

Were the Gaskets inplace on both valves?

This can cause your problem.

I think they were, I'll have to open them up again to have a check.

Have you checked if the path that the throttle cable takes is free and that the cable isn't snagging on anything ? it was causing my problem with idle revs . . .

When I first tried to diagnose the problem I checked the cable. I can't imagine it is due to that just because it only becomes an issue in heavy queueing traffic when the car hasn't moved much in an hour or so.

The worst case the revs built upto 5k idle before I could park up (I was in the tunnel under Brussels).

TPS might need a clean.

What's the TPS?
