Heard today that the 385 maybe delayed a little more. Really don't mind, I know I really want this awesome machine but I would rather have a sorted machine than a wayward one!

Also, Rob Oldaker mentioned that he is due to drive it again quite soon (he may have been referring to the 500, as we discussed much in a short period). He also, mentioned that the car would spin wheels in third gear and smoke the tyres without provocation.

He also thought that a specialist driving lesson would be given to all new owners - wow - it sounds awesome. :D

I also believe the 260/265 will appear a little later in the summer than we initially anticpated - nothing drastic though. :D

NB. Had a mail from an LH drive resident who is keen to get his hands on a 385 - will be forwarding his info to Kernahan later! :D

Yep, I think it maybe useful, along with a spelling lesson - littel :D

That 500 must be one hell of a machine, to think they could tune it to 700bhp - MAD! Find me a *** to burn off!

Mr Admin

I'm new to this Forum. Just would like to ask when you anticipate delivery of the 385? I'm also keen to get one too!

Re: A little bit of 385 news!

Wow - if only.

Holy cow-now this a thread from the depths. 8 years old - I can't believe it was 8 years ago that I received the delay missive from MGR.

Eh?

The VXR8 Bathhurst is a brilliant car - just the running costs would put me off and the depreciation.

Very tempting car though.
Running costs are about the same as most V8's as for depreciation thats the problem with any main stream car. 20K gets you one if you shop around.

They loose 30% as you drive the first mile, but like the ZTV8 will have cult status.

Vauxhall have made some cracking cars and these are 2 of the best.

Not car racism just a true classic.
I agree with all of the above. New VXR8's are on Autotrader at mid £25k. Haven't driven one - but drove a Monaro and loved it - just couldn't bring myself to buy one.

Fraid I must be naive - but racism is a harsh word which seems to be misplaced on this thread.

Ritchy/Car13 - excellent.

I can see you have been got at - all those MG's :D

And also agree that the Bathhurst edition is awesome, especially with the TWR Blower fitted.

In contact with the ex TWR team manager most weeks and he's says Tom is very poorly indeed.

Very interesting man, tells me all about the Vitesses, XJS. XJR6 onwards right up to XJ15 and XJ220s.
