I forget what it is and most importantly, where from??
Needs doing as sure it was replaced with lesser oil and can hear the difference

MTF 94 Tranmission Fluid Oil
Available from various places, it is spec'd for Landrovers so most LR dealers should be able to get it. Alternatively I just typed it into google and ebay and found loads of suppliers depending on your brand of choice :)

Is 5.5 litres not the engine oil capacity ? I'm sure when I changed the gearbox oil it was only a litre or two, I don't have a manual at work to check but I'll look at the Haynes book tonight.

yes you are correct, I'd mixed up the values... 5.5 litres ENGINE oil, 2.2 litres GEARBOX oil. There is amanufactureres spec sheet on here already....
